Bekki was born on the
5th of September, 1988 and today she's still the amazing Chow that she was
the day she came to live with me. For the last 13 years, she's been
our companion, our friend and an ambassador for all Chows. Fate was
around the day Bekki came into our home as the gifts she has given have
been shared by many.
We've been very
fortunate with Bekki. You see, we didn't know about puppy mills and
we didn't know what really happened in pet stores. We believed the
commercial advertising and we believed that just because a dog has a
pedigree that that somehow makes her a quality representative for the
breed.
Mindy was in mourning
over the loss of her previous dog, Molly, who passed away at the age of
16. By happenstance, she found herself in a pet store not
expecting to purchase any dog but when she held Bekki she knew it
was all over. It was love at first hug. In retrospect, very
poor choices were made regarding the selection of a dog, any dog,
from a pet store but somehow we were lucky that day. Bekki was a
very happy and sociable Chow, she loved all people and with positive
reinforcement training she turned into the most amazing Chow
ambassador. To this day, one of Bekki's favourite things to do is
to sit by the front gate and greet all strangers, adults and children
alike, with a friendly wag of the tail and an abundance of kisses.

That's our
Bekki. That's the girl we love so much. And you know, she
hasn't changed a bit. By feeding a natural raw diet and limiting
our vaccines to only what is required by law, Bekki has remained a
healthy and active girl who has never slowed down. She truly is a
WonderChow.
